Public Notice
FUSC Surcharge Decrease
Effective April 1, 2023, the amount of the Federal Universal Service Charge (FUSC) appearing on your bill each month will decrease as a result of a decrease in the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) universal service fund contribution factor from 32.6% to 29.0%. The amount of the FUSC on your bill is calculated in accordance with FCC rules by applying the new universal service contribution factor of 29.0% (0.290) to the rates for interstate services that you used. The federal universal service fund program is designed to keep local service rates affordable for all customers in all areas of the United States.
