Thomas Garrett Vines
On August 23, 1998, I received a E-mail Message from Joe David, Great Grandson of J. Evans Sherfield/Sheffield, who is sharing information about "J. Evans".
In this msg he mentions that T.G. Vines signed his great Grandfather's (J. Evans Sherfield ) application for a Confederate pension and that they served throughout the war together in Co. "D" (Anderson's Company), 22nd
Regiment(Hubbard's Regiment), Walker's Division, Walls Brigade.
Joe David was wondering if the T.G. Vines who signed the application is the same person as Thomas Garrett (T.G) Vines. Even though I believe they are the same person, I was unable to find any conclusive evidence to that fact. I checked the courthouse Jeff Davis Camp #117 Monument and found that T.G. Vines was listed as serving with Co. H., 18th Texas Infantry
I also found THomas Garrett Vine's Death Certificate but unable to find an Obituary.
