I have added Veterans from "Hurst Ranch Cemetery"
Oliver Raasch
has provided me a list of the Military Veterans buried in Hurst Ranch Cemetery that he compiled a few years ago. |

And The Spanish American War 1895 - 1902 When you go to the above page, look for the "Spanish American War Veterans information and burial Locations" link to see which one of the three persons whose names were submitted to the Mills County Historical Commission to be listed as Spanish American War Veterans in the the "Mills County Memories", compiled and Copyrighted 1994 by the Mills County Historical Commission that I believe did not serve or fight in that war at all. He wrote in his article that most average American's now (1998) do not know anything about this war, " The Spanish American War, in spite of its tremendous implications for the United States, Spain, Cuba, Philippines, Guam, Hawaii, and other places, is seldom mentioned in the popular media or brought to the attention of the public." All of us have heard the statement "Remember the MAINE," but how many of us really know about the "MAINE" and what it means. | |
