Click on this Centex 25M file to download the file to your computer and test your file download speed from a Centex web server. After the file is downloaded you can delete the file from your computer. Using the chart below you can convert the average file download speed to the speed of your Internet connection. The speeds conversions below are the same for download and upload. Note that some bandwidth is used by packet headers. Your upload and download speed are somewhat dependent upon each other, especially when approaching the upper limits, so if you use a lot of upload it can affect your download speed. Note: 1 KiloByte divided by 8 = 1 KiloBit The speeds are indicated in Kbps. Using the chart for example: 1500kbps Downstream is equal to 1500kbps/8 KiloBits (1500kbps divided by 8 KiloBits) Which gives you 187.5KBps maximum downstream. Reaching that speed with a 1.5Mbps connection (1500kbps) is theoretically minimal, although you may come close. |
